Hi, I'm Silke,
A New Zealand artist, based in Northland, inspired by the light, the coast, and the wild birds of Aotearoa.
I've been painting most of my life - more than four decades - and I paint the moments in nature that stop me in my tracks: sunshine breaking over the water, a kea's taking flight, the colour that floods in after rain. 
I don't just paint what I see, I paint how it feels.
You'll know my work by its bold colour, flowing koru shapes and the light I'm always chasing. 
Every original is painted by hand in acrylics, with a lot of heart and a lot of layers, and my fine art prints are archival quality, built to last a lifetime. 
My paintings have been shown through the NZ Art Show and exhibitions around the North Island, and hang in private collections across New Zealand and around the world, from Australia and the UK to the USA and Europe.
