Good Hope is that afternoon on Ruakākā Beach when the water, the sand and the sky all seemed to fold into one - and I honestly couldn't move for the beauty of it.

Out on the bay there's a little yacht heading home. She's Good Hope, my Dad's boat. I've sailed those waters more times than I can count, and painting her I could feel us cruising back in after another trip up the coast.

I let the koru carry the sea up into the land, and the land up into the sky - one whole, golden moment held together.
