There’s something magical about watching nature go about its own rhythm. During a visit to our New Zealand coast, I was captivated by the gannets — the way they glided effortlessly over the water, their wings catching and riding the wind, their presence both graceful and free. It filled me with a quiet admiration… and so Wings of Freedom was born.

This painting is more than a depiction of a bird in flight. The sweeping lines capture the movement and energy of the gannet, while the bold, luminous colours radiate the freedom and joy of watching them soar.
