This colourful landscape captures the gentle rolling hills of Waipapa in the foreground, with Cape Brett and the Bay of Islands stretching into the distance.

Inspired by my six-week stay in this stunning location, I was mesmerised by how the colours shifted daily with the changing light. Unlike the original Bay of Islands Bliss, this second interpretation takes a softer, more fluid approach, blending the hues seamlessly without bold lines. The beams of lighter colour still echo the sun peeking through the clouds, adding a sense of tranquillity and movement.

This piece beautifully celebrates the ever-changing beauty of New Zealand’s coastal landscapes.

This painting will be on display at The Light of Day exhibition at the Turner Centre in Kerikeri throughout February. If you purchase it now, delivery will be arranged after the exhibition ends at the end of February 2025.
